Why Diets Don't Work

Typically Diets are restrictive and focus on giving up things. You might shed some pounds while counting every calorie and avoiding carbs, but as soon as you start ratting normal again you pack on the weight.

So instead of focusing on the scale why not trying focosing on being healthy! And that includes looking at the emotional and mental side of things as well. For example do you find yourself snacking on junck when you are stressed? Or do chow down on junk food looking for comfort while comparing yourself to others?

Identifying these triggers and finding other ways to deal with stress and finding other ways to feel better will help stop the cycle of yoyo dieting!

Instead of reaching for your favorite chips or cookies when you are stressed , try taking a few deep breaths to clear your head. Also try doing 5 min of stretching and walking in place to help boost energy and reduce stress.

And when you find yourself putting yourself down change it. Complement yourself weather it's damn I look good in these jeans or wow I have exotic hair give yourself a complement! And instead of Downing a bag of cookies looking at all the models in magazines and online when you are feeling down on yourself , try treating yourself to a beauty treatment! A bubble bath, facial mask , mani/pedi ! What ever makes you feel good and beautiful.

Remind yourself daily you are a Goddess and a Goddess deserves the best! Instead of stocking up on boxed diet food try fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains and lean meats! Focus on quality of food not quantity! And find an activity you enjoy doing you can do 10-30 minutes a day. For me it's dance and riding my excersise bike! Serousily I love putting on music in the morning and coming up with a fun little dance! Or going through one of my Burlesque acts ! And I enjoy putting on a podcast and doing a few minutes on my bike!

I actually started losing weight when I focused on being healthy instead of what the scale says!
